Visit Us

We would love to have you visit our museum, whether as an individual, a family, or a large group. Read below for the answers to the most common questions about visiting the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence.

  • When is CFMAD open for visitors?
    CFMAD has different general hours depending on when you are planning your visit. Private bookings and guided tours are booked outside these hours, subject to availability. Off season (September – June): Sunday: Closed Monday: Closed Tuesday: Closed Wednesday: Closed Thursday: Closed Friday: Closed Saturday: 12:00pm – 4:00pm Peak season (July-August): Sunday: Closed Monday: Closed Tuesday: 12:00 – 4:00pm Wednesday: 12:00 – 4:00pm Thursday: 12:00 – 4:00pm Friday: 12:00 – 4:00pm Saturday: 10:00am – 4:00pm To book a visit for yourself or a group outside these hours, please contact CFMAD staff here.
  • How much does it cost to visit CFMAD?
    For a self-guided visit, there is no admission charge to the museum, but donations are greatly appreciated. Group bookings (by advance reservation only) are available at the following rates: Basic Guided Tour (10+ participants) $3.50 per participant (+tax) In the case of youth groups, 1 adult per every 10 children required, with free admission, $3.50 per additional adult Minimum fee equivalent of 10 activity participants (if group is fewer than 10) = $35.00 Bus driver free; in the case of a commercial group booking (i.e. bus tour), tour escort free Education Programs Guided tour plus activity $5.00 per participant (+tax) 1 adult per every 10 children required, with free admission, $3.50 per additional adult Minimum fee equivalent of 10 activity participants (if group is fewer than 10) = $50.00 Bus driver free
  • How do I get to CFMAD?
    CFMAD is located at 33 Manston Crescent, North Bay, Ontario. This address can be used with an online mapping system, or you can use the PDF directions on this page. .
  • How do I book a group tour?
    We would love to welcome your group for a visit. To allow the best visitor experience for everyone, groups are only booked outside of regular hours. Please contact our staff directly at 705-494-2011 extension 2261, or use the contact form here to connect with us.
  • I have items I would like to donate to the museum. How do I do this?
    Thank you for thinking of donating your items to CFMAD - we appreciate being considered for your donation. Please contact our museum staff to discuss any potential donations prior to sending or bringing anything to the museum. This will help us assess whether we would be able to accept them into our collection, or potentially suggest another museum that might be a better fit for those items.   • Can I bring my pet to the museum?
    Service animals that are trained to perform a specific task for a person with a disability are welcome in the museum. Pets that are not service animals are not permitted in the museum - documentation from a registered medical professional may be requested to determine eligibility of animals into the museum. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  • Can I take photographs in the museum?
    Yes! We encourage photography as a way to remember your visit to CFMAD. Please limit your photography to inside the museum as this is an active base for the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
